Full Job Details & Application:

Education: postgraduate degree

Qualifications:

  • Masterful Degree: Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution; advanced experience a plus but not required.
  • License to Heal: DC and/or Virginia state licensure (or eligibility). Position requires licensure in both jurisdictions.
  • Experience: Pediatric therapy experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Value Alignment: Collaboration, inclusivity, lifelong learning, accountability, credibility, and adaptability.
  • Availability: Minimum 12–20 hours/week preferred for hourly clinicians. Full-time (30–40 hours/week in 5-hour blocks) also available.

Skills:

  • Experience with language, articulation, fluency, pragmatics, praxis, oral motor, and feeding
  • Ability to engage children and reduce behaviors interfering with learning
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for children
  • Ability to work independently with critical thinking and objective decision-making
  • Strong judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and iPad usage

Responsibilities:

  • Provide client-based treatment
  • Provide ongoing parent/family/teacher education
  • Plan individual treatment programs based on client’s needs and adjust as needed
  • Administer pediatric standardized assessments

Duties Require

  • Extensive standing and walking
  • Lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
