Skills on the Hill 20th Anniversary Celebration!
Many SOTH Friends joined us at Clemyjontri Park on October 19th. It was a fun-filled celebration with balloons, snacks, face painting, games, and tons of playground exploration. Lots of our SOTH team members attended and got to play with their special clients and their families. Here is a video of some of the fun we had!
Clemyjontri Park in McLean, Virginia, is renowned for its inclusive playground, designed to accommodate children of all abilities. - The Rainbow Room: A vibrant area with swings, slides, and other equipment, all in a rainbow of colors.
- The Schoolhouse and Maze: This zone encourages imaginative play with a replica of a schoolhouse, a maze, and various climbing structures.
- Movin’ and Groovin’ Transportation Area: Features a play train, cars, and other transportation-themed equipment.
- Fitness and Fun: Designed to promote physical activity, this area includes monkey bars, balance beams, and other fitness-related challenges.
- Sensory and Cognitive Play Areas: The playground includes equipment that stimulates the senses, such as tactile panels, musical instruments, and interactive games. These features are designed to engage children with sensory processing disorders and encourage cognitive development.
- Shaded Picnic Areas: Clemyjontri also offers shaded picnic areas with accessible tables, providing a comfortable space for families to relax and enjoy a meal together.
- Safety and Comfort: The entire playground is covered with a soft, rubberized surface that cushions falls, and there are ample benches for caregivers to supervise play.
