Preschools

Early Identification · On-Site Therapy · Teacher Support | Half-Day & Full-Day Programs

The preschool years are among the most critical for developmental intervention. Early identification of sensory, motor, speech, and social-emotional differences gives children the best possible foundation for learning — and gives families the time they need to put the right support in place before kindergarten.

Skills on the Hill partners with half-day and full-day private preschool programs to bring experienced pediatric therapists directly into your school environment. We work alongside your teachers, respect your curriculum and schedule, and communicate clearly with families every step of the way.

Service Options

On-Site Therapy: We can place an OT, PT, or SLP in your program on a regular schedule — working with individual children or small groups within the natural preschool environment. This approach, known as integrated or push-in therapy, is widely recognized as one of the most effective models for young children.

Developmental Screenings: Our clinicians conduct brief, play-based screenings that identify children who may benefit from a full evaluation. Screenings can be offered to all children at a given age or grade level, or targeted to children about whom teachers have expressed concern. We provide written summaries and recommendations for every child screened.

Medical Model (Family Billing): Services can be billed through families’ health insurance or as private pay, making it easy for schools to offer therapy access without carrying the cost directly. Group sessions under the medical model are billed as private pay.

Educational Model (School-Funded): Schools that choose to fund services directly can offer therapy as a program benefit — particularly valuable for programs that serve children with identified developmental needs or that want to distinguish themselves as developmentally supportive environments.

Teacher Consultation & Workshops: We offer professional development for preschool teachers and directors on topics including sensory-friendly classroom strategies, recognizing developmental red flags, supporting children with challenging behaviors, and facilitating fine and gross motor development through play.

Referral Partnership: If a formal arrangement isn’t the right fit right now, we are happy to be a resource your staff can turn to when families have questions or concerns. We offer complimentary phone consultations for families referred by our school partners.
