Supporting the Whole Child | From Infancy Through School Age
Children in full-day daycare and early learning programs spend more waking hours in those settings than anywhere else. For children with developmental differences — and for those who are simply developing along their own unique timeline — the daycare environment can be both a place of challenge and an extraordinary opportunity for natural, play-based intervention.
Skills on the Hill works with daycare directors and staff to bring therapeutic support into your program in a way that feels natural, collaborative, and genuinely useful — for your children, your families, and your team.
Service Options
On-Site Therapy: We can place a licensed OT, PT, or SLP in your center on a consistent schedule. Therapists work within your routines — during free play, mealtimes, outdoor time, and structured activities — using everyday moments as therapeutic opportunities. Services can be one-on-one or in small groups.
Developmental Screenings: Early identification is everything. Our clinicians offer play-based developmental screenings for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children — providing your staff and families with clear information about where a child is developmentally and what, if anything, to do next.
Medical Model (Family Billing): Therapy services can be billed through families’ private health insurance or as direct pay, allowing your center to offer access to clinical services without absorbing the cost. Group therapy sessions under the medical model are not covered by insurance and are offered as private pay.
Educational / Center-Funded Model: Centers that wish to fund services directly — either as a program feature or to support specific children — can contract with us directly. This model allows for flexible group sessions, classroom consultation, and integrated support across your program.
Staff Training & Workshops: We offer practical, accessible professional development for daycare staff at all levels — from lead teachers to aides to directors. Topics include recognizing developmental red flags in infants and toddlers, sensory-supportive environments, supporting children with feeding and mealtime challenges, and strategies for children with challenging behaviors.
Referral Partnership: Not ready for a formal arrangement? We welcome the chance to simply be a name your director and teachers can share when families come to you with concerns. We offer complimentary consultations for families referred by our center partners.
