Flexible On-Site & Outpatient Services | Educational & Medical Models
Independent and private schools serve children with a wide range of learning profiles — and families often need therapy support that goes beyond what a school’s existing staff can provide. Skills on the Hill offers private schools a flexible, low-commitment partnership that can be as simple as a referral relationship or as structured as a regular on-site clinical presence.
We work within both educational and medical service delivery models, and we tailor our involvement to match each school’s philosophy, structure, and budget.
Service Options
On-Site Therapist: We can send a licensed therapist to your school — whether for a half day per week in a single discipline or a more regular schedule across OT, PT, or speech. Services can be provided one-on-one or in small groups.
Medical Model (Outpatient Billing): When services are delivered under the medical model, we bill families directly through their health insurance or as private pay. This is ideal for schools that do not carry a therapy budget but whose families want clinic-level services in a familiar setting. Note: group sessions are not covered under the medical model and are billed as private pay.
Educational Model (School-Funded): When a school chooses to fund services directly — for example, to support students with documented learning needs or to fulfill a commitment to a family — we invoice the school. Services under this model can include both individual and group sessions.
Developmental Screenings: We offer group screenings for students at key developmental milestones — a valuable early identification tool that many independent schools use to support families before concerns become significant.
Faculty & Staff Workshops: Our clinicians are experienced educators as well as practitioners. We offer professional development workshops for teachers and school staff on topics including sensory processing in the classroom, handwriting development, supporting students with attention and executive function challenges, and social-emotional regulation strategies.
Referral Partnership: Even if your school is not ready for a formal arrangement, we welcome the chance to be on your referral list — a trusted name your team can share with families seeking outside support.
